I have mixed feelings about innovation in housing for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants.
Innovation (defined as a new method, idea or product ) can mean different things to different people. Innovation may not necessarily be good (think Robodebt). Typically we identify and promote innovation to prompt actions by funders, developers and managers to deliver more and better housing. In most cases, the innovation has been developed elsewhere: in another time or program. Sometimes funders promote innovation as an alternative to scaling up to defer action and expenditure.
With those caveats, it is helpful to look at innovation in housing for NDIS participants in both roles and property characteristics.
