The SDA Pricing Review has estimated that the numbers to be housed by the SDA Program has increased from 28,000 to 30,000. At the same time, the annual cost of the NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) program will grow from the previously projected $700m to $1,800m p.a.. The Review recommends a rebalancing of the pricing but no alteration to the pricing mechanism itself. Consequently, the SDA program will continue to rely on a price cap rather than a competitive market-based provision allowing developers to cherry-pick the most profitable projects. This program and pricing structure do not guarantee the delivery of all the accommodation required nor that the accommodation delivered will be well-located or contemporary, even with significant additional expenditure. #NDS #NDIS #disability
