180 Places in Unfinished New SDA are not Contemporary

The NDIS Home and Living consultation paper proposed that contemporary Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is for four residents or less and of a design standard higher than Basic. An examination of the June 2022 NDIS Unfinished (Unenrolled) SDA data reveals a number of SDA dwellings in development will have five residents. In fact, of the 3,085 Unfinished dwellings, 36 were five-bedroom dwellings. The 180 places of Unfinished SDA represent about 3.3% of all unfinished capacity.
