The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is using an open regulated market approach to secure access to a portfolio of contemporary, fit for purpose Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) for the estimated 28,200 NDIS participants with significant support needs who require it. This represents an increase of 10,700 from the estimated 17,500 that were already housed in SDA-like housing before the NDIS.
